The Mad Caddies performed on the last night of the Long Day’s Night Music Festival in Swift Current. And they did it with the style and energy of a California ska band – it was awesome! It was an honour to be able to photograph a band of which we have been long time fans, and to see them in Swift Current, Saskatchewan of all places. The crowd was great and they liked our beer (Black Bridge Brewery) so let’s hope they’ll be back!

Scott Richmond Music was the opening act for the 3rd night of the Long Day’s Night Music Festival in Swift Current. His band filled the tent with their signature mix of high-energy folk and gritty country doused in blues and had the crowd on their feet by the end of their set. It was another beautiful night under the stars in Swift Current.

This calm, serene tent was host to a rockin’ music festival a few weeks ago in Swift Current, SK and we had so much fun there! Bend Sinister performed on the second night of the Long Day’s Night Music Festival, and they were fantastic. They had so much energy and their sound is great. I hope we captured some of their electric stage presence.

Windscape Kite Festival in Swift Current celebrated it’s 10th year and we had the privilege of being there. This awesome event is home grown and organized by Shann Gowan, her family and an amazing team of staff and volunteers.  It is a beautiful event and truly suitable for all ages from the very young to the elderly.  There are enough activites to keep you busy all weekend with public kite flying fields, celebrity kite flyers, kite workshops, a ton of kids activities and fun performances and at night, the Long Day’s Night Music Festival (stay tuned for those photos).

We highly recommend making a trip to Swift Current to check out this awesome prairie festival which happens annually around the 3rd week in June.
